When the Department of Fairs and Expositions cut funding to local fairs in 2011, the need to form a non-profit that would support activities that occur at the fair was recognized. In response to that, a group of Glenn County 4-H leaders, FFA advisors and community members formed a corporation and have subsequently completed all the paperwork and received declaration of meeting the criteria of a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization in support of youth in agricultural education. We support agricultural education projects including the University of California’s 4-H Youth Development Program, the school-based Future Farmers of America, Grange and independent exhibitors.

The Clover and Glenn County Buyers’ Groups successfully developed and managed by Phil McCorkle and Irene Skala were formalized under the umbrella of this corporation. As word of this charitable work spread, early in 2014 we filed a dba as NorCal Youth Livestock Association allowing us the opportunity to continue to grow and assist more youth across Northern California. The Mount Lassen Buyers’ Group managed by Michell Williams was added in May 2018. In 2020, we filed a dba as Glenn Ag Expo and sponsored that event.

We meet several times per year to discuss our business matters. All donations are recognized with a letter for tax purposes. We would like to
